A BABY llama was welcomed into the Woodside Animal Farm family last week, but it wasn’t until a customer alerted a member of staff that they realised it had been born.
Baby Jack weighed approximately 9-14kgs when he was born on January 25, and he is brown and white in colour.
A spokesperson from the farm near Slip End said: “We have eight other llamas including two older babies for Jack to play with. Jack will suckle from his mum at first, around 60ml a time. Llamas like to be fed by customers but they are cheeky and try to take the whole pot of feed from them.”
The female llamas gather round to protect the youngster after birth. Older llamas can be used to scare off any predators.
