Barton’s Unity Hall was one of only four entries to receive the coveted Campaign for Rural England Mark in the organisation’s annual awards.

The hall is situated on Luton Road sports field adjacent to Barton Rovers Football Club.

Marks were also awarded to The Community Tree Trust, Rectory Farm, Wilden and Rushmere Country Park, Leighton Buzzard.

Lord Lieutenant Helen Nellis said: “I am so impressed with the range of examples across the county of schemes to improve the landscape, maintain its biodiversity and enhance its character through good building design and restoration.”
