Posing nude in one of the biggest women’s magazines in the country takes some guts, but after a relationship break-up and dramatic weight-loss, a woman from Luton wanted to show the world her new-found confidence.
Natalie Booth, 32, who grew up in Marsh Farm, lost five stone doing Cambridge Weight Plan.
As her confidence rocketed, the former Whitefield Primary School pupil decided to train as a burlesque performer, and now the House of Fraser buyer spends her spare time unleashing her inner Dita Von Teese.
Natalie said: “I’m in a really lovely position in my life, I’m genuinely happy, and this shoot celebrates that. I like to challenge myself.
“My relationship with my ex and that part of my life left me feeling very down. When you split up with someone you think ‘I’ll get new shoes, have a new haircut’, but this time I wanted to really go for it. As the weight came off I started to feel more in control and my confidence came back.
“I didn’t diet down to a size eight – I’ve got curves in all the right places and that’s what you need for burlesque. It’s about being happy with what you are left with.”
Natalie said the Cosmopolitan team looked after her really well at the photoshoot. She is the first nude model for a new feature in the magazine called ‘amazing bodies’.
Natalie said: “My mum who lives in Wardown Crescent is really nervous about the magazine coming out, she said she’s going to buy all the copies in Luton. My grandad is the most proud.”
