Car park that’s a kerb-crawling hot spot expected to be closed

Residents living near Wenlock Street car park in High Town could see some of their problems with prostitutes and kerb-crawlers resolved tonight (March 12).
Councillors are expected to approve the recommendation to close the car park at night, after a long campaign by residents.
A Labour spokesperson said: “A report going to Central Luton Area Board this week will recommend the closure of Wenlock Street car park at night where the women have been working. The two councillors have been working with residents who live close to the car park to find resolution to that problem. A contribution towards the cost of a new barrier on the car park will be met by Luton Borough Council.”
