A Dallow Road Cash and Carry received fines of more than £27,000 after an employee fell into a four-foot pit.
Bestway Cash and Carry was fined £27,807 at Luton Magistrates Court on September 20 for breaking three offences under Health and Safety Laws.
The employee fell into an unguarded loading bay while working in the store’s warehouse.
She escaped with minor injuries, despite the depth of the pit, the hard service she fell on and the weight of items that fell on her.
