A happy 100-year-old enjoyed celebrating her special birthday in Betty Dodd Court on Saturday.
Kathleen Phyllis Day (nee Whittemore) enjoyed a birthday party with family and friends at the Luton care home.
The birthday girl, known as Phyllis, was also whisked away on a cruise at the start of the month.
Granddaughter Terri Grant said: “She loved the cruise, we had a great time and a lovely party on Saturday.”
Luton lady Phyllis was born in Stopsley on September 25, 1913.
The centenarian was the eldest of five, with two brothers and two sisters, and is the only surviving sibling.
Phyllis married Wilfred George Day in 1935 and moved to Neville Road where she lived for 76 years.
Wilfred passed away in 1988 and Phyllis has lived in Betty Dodd Court since 2011
She has one son, Raymond, three granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, meaning five generations of the family have helped her celebrate.
In her younger years Phyllis was in the church choir and worked as a coach escort taking disabled young adults to school.
