Crash man was pushing car after running out of fuel

Two men involved in a collision in Stuart Street on Monday night were pushing their car along the busy road after running out of fuel, police say.
One has been transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge from the L&D after suffering leg and head injuries. He is a serious but stable condition.
The collision happened in Stuart Street just before 8pm, as the men were pushing their Astra along the dual carriageway.
The second man received slight injuries.
The driver of the other car involved, a Ford Focus, was not injured.
The officer in charge of the collision investigation, PC David Clarke, wants to speak to anyone who saw the collision.
