Drink-drive arrest figures revealed

BEDS Police’s ‘Stay Safe’ clamp-down campaign 94 drivers being arrested for drunk driving in June.

Of the 94, three were arrested for ‘being in charge of a vehicle with excess alcohol’, 78 for a positive breath test, two refused a test and 11 were ‘unfit to drive through drink/drugs’.

Chief Inspector Richard Hann said: “Never be tempted to take the chance that you’re under the legal limit. Drink or drug driving will not be tolerated in Bedfordshire.”
