Extra airline charge for bags

BUDGET airline Wizz Air is to become the first operator to introduce charges for hand luggage in a pilot scheme to be run on flights from Luton starting next month.

The airline will charge passengers flying between Luton Airport and Katowice in Poland £8 for any luggage larger than a handbag, rucksack or laptop bag.

Airline bosses say that the trial, which starts on August 1, is designed to improve ‘on-time performance’ and the customer experience.
