Jury to hear Margaret Moran allegations

The MP attended a preliminary hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court last September

The trial of Margaret Moran for expenses fraud begins today, in the absence of the former Luton South MP, who was deemed unfit to unfit to plead due to mental illness.

The jury in the ‘trial of issue’ at Southwark Crown Court will hear 15 charges of false accounting and six of forgery against Ms Moran.

The alleged fraudulent claims amount to more than £80,000.
