Liz O’Reilly, of Lewsey Farm, decided to take on the challenge after she watched 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy on the TV.

She said: “I always wanted to do it and when I saw a 78-year-old woman do iy on the TV, I thought if she can do it then so can I.

“I spoke to my friends about it and they all agreed to do it, there’s ten of us including one man, we are all getting nervous, most of us doing it are in our 50’s.

“I have looked into the challenge and we will be jumping from 13,000 foot at 120 miles per hour, I wish I had never looked now!”

They are raising money for a charity that Liz and her husband Carl set up to support children who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Liz added: “We want to raise money to help children and their families living with type 1 diabetes, our granddaughter was diagnosed with the illness when she was three and we have seen the impact it has had on the family.

“Insulin pumps reduce the need for insulin injections and continuous glucose monitoring helps reduce the need for constant finger pricking.

“If we can raise enough money through the year of fundraising, we can help a lot of families.”
