Lewis Hamilton will carry torch from Luton

FORMULA ONE driver Lewis Hamilton will be carrying the Olympic Torch from Luton to Oxford on Monday (July 9), it was revealed today.

The 2008 world champion, who grew up in Stevenage, does not yet know which part of the journey he will be carrying the torch for, but it will be at some point on the Luton to Oxford leg.

Hamilton, 27, will be fresh from competing in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone the day before he joins the Torch Relay.
