Little progress in tackling anti-social behaviour
Bedfordshire Police’s anti-social behaviour strategy is being discussed at the Police Authority meeting this morning in Kempston.
The force received a poor report from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) in June 2012 for addressing anti-social behaviour, and will be looking at new ways to tackle the problem.
The report said: “Bedfordshire Police has made little progress in how it tackles anti-social behaviour and is unable to consistently identify repeat and vulnerable ASB victims when they first contact the police.”
However, the HMIC report acknowleged Beds Police is working hard to tackle this, and are committed to ensuring future anti-social behaviour improvements.
The HMIC will return in February 2013 to monitor Bedfordshire Police’s progress.
Members of the Police Authority are asked to endorse the force’s approach to improving its anti-social behaviour capabilities, through the anti-social behaviour strategy and development plan.
