Luton pair face firearms charges

POLICE have charged two Luton men with firearms offences after raids at two addresses on Friday.

Tariq Mahmood, aged 40, of Moor Path, was charged with possession of a firearm (prohibited weapon) and possession of prohibited ammunition.

He was also charged with possession of a controlled drug – Class “A” – cocaine.

Amani Al-Nur, aka Claudette Rhoades, aged 31, of Kirkwood Road, was charged with possession of a firearm (prohibited weapon) and possession of prohibited ammunition.

Both defendants were remanded in custody following an appearance at Luton Magistrates Court on July 21. They will next be appearing on July 31.
