Luton Dunstable Busway contract to be kept secret
Andrew Selous MP calls for details of cancellation clause to be released
Furious South West Bedfordshire MP Andrew Selous has called on Luton Borough Council to release details of the contract between them and a construction company to build the controversial 90 million Luton Dunstable Busway.
Mr Selous MP, who has has had a request to make details of the deal between the Town Hall and BAM Nuttall public denied.
He said: "Ever since the Busway was announced by Luton Borough Council I have had a stream of letters and emails from my constituents objecting to the spending of 90 million of public money on this project.
"Only one person has written to me to say they support the Busway. This scheme is already having an impact on my constituency and many people have asked me what the cancellation clause in the contract states.
"I have just been re-elected on a manifesto that called for transparency where public money is concerned and I hope that Luton Borough Council will review its decision to keep the contract secret given the widespread opposition to the Busway among so many of my constituents."
