The 50mph speed limit on the M1 between junctions 11 and 12 has been removed.
The Highways Agency returned the motorway to 70mph at the weekend after three years of roadworks between junctions 10 and 13 to implement hard shoulder running.
There will be no more planned daytime roadworks or temporary speed limits on the motorway, an agency spokesman said.
Work at junction 12 is due to be completed shortly, while work at junction 11 is due to be completed in December.
