Emergency services were called at approximately 4pm to reports of concern for the welfare of a man, who had been found in a van in Sainsbury’s car park in Quantock Rise.

Sadly the man, Peter McCann, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene, and police are now appealing for information to help establish the circumstances leading up to his death.

Det Segt Michelle Lack said: “We are not treating this death as suspicious, but we are keen to find out what happened to Peter prior to his death and we’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen him, or his vehicle, yesterday.”

The van was a green Vauxhall Vivaro with a 11 plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Lack on 101 quoting ‘Operation Chantilly’.
