Man robbed of phone in Luton street

A 21-year-old man was robbed as he walked along Russell Street on Friday night.

The incident happened at around 10pm when the victim was approached by a man who grabbed him around the neck and made threats before demanding cash and a Nokia mobile telephone.

The offender is described as a white man, between 18 and 21 years of age with an average build, dark cropped hair and a studded earring.

The officer in charge of this investigation, PC Matt Stonnell, is keen to trace anyone who can identify the man responsible from the description given or anyone who witnessed the robbery.
