Luton poet laureate Mary Emeji is one of several inspirational speakers at a Black History Month event to be hosted by Mayoress Mrs Imelda Knight in the Town Hall on Friday (October 19).

Celebrating Herstory is designed to entertain and raise awareness of the contributions women have made to society.

There will be several stalls promoting physical and emotional wellbeing as well as an auction in aid of the Abuse Victim Support project and World Mercy.

Morcea Walker MBE will MC the event which starts at 7pm in committee room 2.
