Men's health: Not just a load of balls!
MP Kelvin joins NHS campaign
Are you a Luton man aged between 35 and 74?
Then you're the target of a new campaign by NHS Luton and UK charity the Blood Pressure Association.
A specially-equipped health check van and portable surgeries, run by the Blood Pressure Association, will be at the Chaul End Centre in Dunstable Road on Wednesday, June 17, from 12pm until 8pm.
On Thursday, June 18, it will be in Brantwood Park - between Dallow Road and Ashburnham Road - from 12pm until 8pm and on Friday, June 19, it will be in Sainsbury's car park in Dunstable Road from 12pm until 8pm.
And as part of Men's Health Week this week, Luton North MP Kelvin Hopkins has been rolling up his sleeves in a roving health check van to promote the campaign.
Kelvin said: "It's a fact that men just don't visit the doctor as often as women. And given their increased risk of major life-threatening illnesses, something needs to be done to encourage them."
Women can also get a heart MOT in a portable screening surgery on Saturday, June 20, from 10am until 6pm and Thursday, June 25, from 10am until 6pm in The Mall Arndale by the market.
Men can also attend.
