A Luton man has called for speed restrictions on the Luton and Dunstable Guided Busway after he claimed an accident on Monday left him with a sore knee.
Osborne Huggins of Spencer Road was travelling from Bury Park to Dunstable when the incident occurred.
He said: “The driver was going at a fair old whack and the bus lurched from one side to the other and started making a buzzing sound.
“The guided wheel appeared to be damaged and the driver got out and stamped on it two or three times.”
Mr Huggins injured his knee during the incident.
He said: “I was holding on to the metal rail and hit my leg underneath the knee cap on the disabled seat in front. It was only later it started playing up.”
An Arriva spokeswoman said: “When the driver entered one of the guided sections on the busway, he was a little too far over on the right and the bus was bounced on to the left hand side. At NO point did the bus leave the track and the driver and bus continued until the end of the route.
“No passengers approached the driver with any concerns over the incident. The bus was brought back to the depot for the wheel alignment to be checked and there was no other damage.”
