Police warning over cancelled reggae gig

Nightclub closed until further notice

A performance by a popular reggae DJ in Luton tonight (Thursday 04/12) has been cancelled, prompting a police warning to revellers not to turn up.

Elephant Man was due to perform at Club Home in Flowers Way but the event has now been cancelled, and the club is closed until further notice.

Bedfordshire Police say the event has been widely publicised on the internet, with flyers also being circulated in Luton and London.

Officers will be in the town centre tonight to deal with any problems resulting from disappointed ticketholders turning up at the venue.

A spokesman said: "We would emphasise we have no wish to spoil people's fun, but safety is of paramount importance and we would advise people not to bother travelling to Luton as they will have a wasted journey.

"Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for this event should contact the promoter directly to arrange a refund."
