Hockwell Ring Post Office will be closed for refurbishment from Thursday January 9 until Monday January 20.
The refurbishment will see the post office in The Green modernised and a four serving positions installed.
This is part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours of customers.
There will be a mix of three screened positions and a Post Office serving point provided for use at the retail counter.
Post Office Regional Network Manager Will Russell said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this area of Luton and we are confident that the new branch will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches. This investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
The opening hours will be extended to 46.5 hours a week over seven days.
During this refurbishment the nearest alternative post offices are in Beechwood Road and Marsh Road, Luton.
