POLICE made just eight arrests in Luton on Saturday as protests involving the English Defence League and Unite Against Facism passed off ‘relatively smoothly’.

Up to 1,500 EDL supporters converged on High Town and marched to St George’s Square while up to 1,000 people from UAF took part in a counter protest in Market Hill and St George’s Square.

Of those arrested on the day, one man was arrested for assaulting his coach driver, one for assaulting a police officer, and two arrests for drug possession.

Police also dealt with what appears to be a fight at the bottom of Dunstable Road which left two men with minor head injuries.

In all, 19 people were treated for minor injuries throughout the day, including three police officers.

Chief Supt Mike Colbourne, Luton’s divisional commander, said: “The policing operation has been in the planning for weeks and the professionalism of the officers was borne out today. We were assisted by 27 forces and it’s a great example of how forces can work together in difficult circumstances.”

English Defence League, or should that be 'Israel Defence League.' The EDL rank-and-file are shabazz goyim; brainwashed cannon-fodder for America's planned war with Iran at the behest of Israel. Their backer, Alan Lake, is a Zionist extremist. Tommy Robinson is merely the monkey not the organ grinder. He is a traitor and a Zionist collaborator. It is the Zionists who have turned our country into a multi-ethnic country.
