Slideshow: Here's what Luton looks like....

Students from around the globe capture town in series of arresting images

Quirky images of Luton that can be seen in a thought-provoking exhibition of very personal impressions of the town captured by photography students from across the globe.

About Here: Images of Luton is a showcase of photographs by University of Bedfordshire students from as far afield as America, South Africa, the Baltic States and Eastern Europe, as well as the local area, and is being held at the Direct Art Gallery in High Town Road.

It's the first public exhibition of work by students taking the BA (Hons) degree in digital photography and video art.

Course leader Raymond Tomin said: "We have talented students from all over the world who live in or around Luton. They were given the opportunity to respond to the theme of documenting the town from a personal perspective and have photographed the area and its people, capturing the spirit and different qualities which Luton has to offer."

Photographs are available either as limited edition prints or in a catalogue which includes an essay by research assistant Jason Wilson.

The exhibition is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11am to 3pm, until June 21
