Smart Reading Child Project
Author Elizabeth Adonu
A Luton mum and graduate keen to foster a love of reading in children has written a book she hopes will do the trick.
The Chase Through Mrs Remraf’s Kitchen comes from the fertile imagination of Elizabeth Ngozi Adonu of Telscombe Way.
It’s the first in a series called The Smart Reading Child Project.
Mrs Adonu, 39, who holds a degree in nursing and psychology as well as a masters in health and safety management, believes a passion for reading is invaluable and should be encouraged from an early age.
“There’s nothing wrong with teaching your children a love of books,” she says. “My main focus is raising consciousness in parents and guardians about the importance of developing an enthusiasm for reading – it’s fun, it’s pleasurable, it’s like having your cake and eating it.
“And the more you read, the more you know.
“Children are our future – and reading enhances their debating, listening and speaking skills.”
