Sparky Billy to trek India
Charity challenge in aid of hospices
Popular TV personality Billy Byrne, whose daughter Emma died of cancer when she was only 20, will take leave of absence from DIY SOS next year to embark on a new challenge - Keech Hospice Care's Trek India 2010.
Billy, who's adept at fixing other people's disasters on the BBC show, will be travelling to the sub continent to work on a rescue project of a different kind. And he's vowed that he's going to ask everyone he's ever known to help.
He said: "I want to raise lots and lots of money for the hospices on this trek so I'm going to bang the drum and work as hard as I can."
A team of volunteers will join him doing renovation work at Delhi's Cancer Hospice. They will also help create a children's play area.
Places on the trek are limited so it's important to register as soon as possible.
