Stay safe online - and try to win Formula 1 merchandise

Stay safe online, especially when you share intimate images by '˜sexting'.

That is the reminder from Bedfordshire Police, who are launching a new awareness campaign which will be promoted at this weekend’s Bedford River Festival.

The force are teaming up with Action Fraud and Kaspersky to deliver advice throughout the event.

And visitors will also able to practice safety of a different kind, with a Formula 1 racing simulator at the cyberstand to test your driving skills and quick reactions.

The fastest lap will be in with the chance of winning F1 merchandise, courtesy of Kaspersky, who will also hand out free security software on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cyber security advisor Sean O’Neil, from the Beds Police Cyber Hub, will be speaking about combatting cyber crime, and will advise parents on the growing risks associated with ‘sexting’ and the sharing of intimate images among young people.

He said: “The River Festival promises to be a fun-filled, family-friendly weekend packed with lots of entertainment.

“Our aim in being there is to remind people about their digital safety in an engaging way, by working together with Get Safe Online, and speaking to people about all manner of ways in which they could protect themselves and their family online.
