Students attempt to turn tenners into turnover
Make Your Mark campaign kicks off in Luton
More than 180 students from Luton have set about turning tenners into turnover as part of a challenge set by Dragon's Den star Peter Jones.
A 10 note was handed to each of the youngsters taking part on Monday with the idea to come up with creative and enterprising ideas to make money and make a difference.
A group of students from Ashcroft High School and 150 people aged 19 and under from the Marsh Farm Community Development Trust will take part in the contest, with students expected to generate a profit of around 3,222 between them.
The contest is backed by a team of leading businessmen and women, including Oli Barrett, Peter Jones, the founders of Bebo Michael and Xochi Birch, as well as the Big Lottery Fund, which has lent a total of 400,000 to students across the UK for the month of March before they will each have to pay the money back.
