A 19-year-old cyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Vincent Road yesterday (September 5).

The driver of the vehicle did not stop, and the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene at 4.30pm.

A 26-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is being questioned by officers.

The victim has been named locally as ‘Delaney’, and friends have created a Facebook page in his memory.

Family Liaison Officers are supporting the victim’s family at this time and H M Coroner will open an inquest in due course.

Bedfordshire Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area.

Anyone with information should call Beds Police in confidence on 101 or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
