A young girl killed after being in collision with a bus in Bury Park, Luton on Friday, has been named as Mayah Alleyah Shazad aged three.
Tributes on social media have described Mayah as ‘a beautiful princess.
Sajid Mahmood wrote: ;So absolutely tragic, she seemed so lovely and joyful.’
Dunstable Road was closed for several hours to allow
specialist police collision investigators had to make a thorough examination of the scene,
Arriva Buses have also suspended services in the area.
Paul Adcock, Area MD said “ Our deepest condolences go to the family of the young girl at this very sad time and our thoughts are with all her family, friends and the whole community at this tragic loss.”
“Our staff continue to support the Police as part of their investigations in to the cause of this tragic accident and we are assisting with their enquiries. “
“At this time, all bus services through Bury Park are suspended as mark of respect to the family and the community.. We hope normal service can resume early in the week and we will advise customers as soon as we feel it is appropriate to return bus services to the area.”
The Arriva services affected are 5, 31, 27, 31 and 38 and they will be using either Dallow Road or Hatters Way during the suspension. Arriva have apologised for any disruption to peoples’ journeys as a result of the diversions.
