TV star Olivia shoots scenes in Luton

editorial image

A Luton basement was transformed with sumptuous Italian decor last week when filming took place for a high society tale of fashion, murder and obsession.

Scenes for Impirioso, the latest project by US-born artist Sarah Baker, were shot in the basement of the Departure Lounge gallery in George Street.

The walls were lined with specially-printed monogrammed wallpaper to create a ‘shrine room’ where the film’s central character, Lucia Rosso, worships her collection of expensive fans, produced by her husband Rocco’s fashion house.

The story is based on that of Patrizia Reggiani, the wife of Gucci heir Maurizio Gucci, who arranged for her husband to be killed by a hitman. It stars Olivia D’Abo, who will be familiar to British audiences from her roles in The Wonder Years (in which she played Kevin Arnold’s older sister, Karen) and Law & Order.

Filming has also been taking place at Luton Hoo and Hatfield House.
