VIDEO: Mayor's praise for Keech Cottage
Hospice open day showcases top-class facilities
Visitors who attended an open day at Keech Cottage children's hospice came away hugely impressed by what they saw.
Among the first of the VIP guests to arrived was the Mayor of St Albans, councillor Kate Morris. She said: "We raise funds for the hospice in St Albans and I've been aware of Keech Cottage for some time but this is my first visit.
"I feel very privileged to have been invited on Open Day and it's very useful for me to see what's available. The facilities are so comprehensive."
Keech Cottage is full of giant cuddly toys and brightly coloured welcoming rooms. The main care area overlooks the playground and there is comfy seating as well as games, music and TV to entertain all ages. There is also a hydrotherapy pool and a special suite which bereaved parents can use after a child has died.
A Keech Cottage spokeswoman said: "We were delighted to have this opportunity to showcase our excellent facilities and to thank our donors and volunteers, without whom we could not achieve so much."
