White British a minority in Luton

Luton is one of four towns and cities in the UK where White British people are a minority, The Sun newspaper reported today (January 10).

The town was listed along with Slough, Leicester and London as places where less than 50 per cent of residents are white Brits.

In Luton, 45 per cent of people are white British, 24 per cent are other wite, 14 per cent Pakistani, seven per cent Indian and five per cent African.

Leicester has a white Brit population of 45 per cent, wihle Slough has 35 per cent. No ethnic group is in the majority in any of the three outside London.

The Manchester University study also says the figure for Birmingham may fall below half within seven years.
