Work to seal small cracks in £89 million busway link route

Workers on the £89 million Luton Dunstable Busway are using bitumen paint to seal tiny cracks in the track – a practice which is perfectly normal for such a project say Luton Borough Council.

Patches of the paint appeared on the busway track on Hatters Way last week.

A Town Hall spokesman said: “Tiny shrinkage cracks (less than 0.25mm wide) are being sealed with bitumen paint.

“This is entirely normal for projects of this nature.”
