A six-year-old Luton schoolboy had the experience of a lifetime when he accompanied Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva on to the pitch ahead of the team’s Euro 2016 final with France earlier this month.
Reggie Martin from Wigmore was there as a McDonald’s player escort.
The Putteridge Primary pupil attended the match with proud mum Kelly Phillips.
She said: “It’s football 24/7 with Reggie. He plays for Crawley Green Rangers Under 7s, trains at Luton Town and supports Tottenham Hotspur.
“When we were at the final in Paris he kept turning to me and saying ‘OMG Mum, I can’t believe it.’
“The highlight for him was high-fiving Renaldo.”
McDonald’s director of football, Sir Geoff Hurst, said: “Walking out as a McDonald’s player escort ahead of such a big game, in front of such an incredible crowd, is an experience he will never forget.”
