Luton Mela is one of the town’s summer highlights.
It’s when families of all sizes, creeds and colours come together to bask in the balmy weather, listen to a wide variety of music from all over the world and sample a mouth-watering selection of international dishes.
This year’s Mela takes place at Wardown Park from 12 noon on Sunday, August 3.
Spokesman Furhaad Ahmed said: “Its purpose is to bring communities together to enjoy and appreciate different cultures through art.
“There will be performances from great artists like Bilal Saeed, Sama Blake, Shide Boss Sazia Judge, Premi Johal Bollywood Belles and many more.
“The host is Shy who will be introducing some amazing acts of Bhangra in addition to Golden Asian hip hop, Rappers’ poetry, a Chinese Lion Dance and African drums as well as Brazilian Alberto Jahasie and his band and Mikey and Happi from the Congo.” He added: “We’re also going to have a children’s zone with fun activites such as arts, crafts and fun fair rides.”
The Luton Mela team will be on handto make sure everyone is having a good time.
