A Luton woman is set to take on four marathons over consecutive weekends, in memory of two siblings who died during infancy.
Seasoned runner Nikki Cox, 53, is taking on the challenge to raise money for Child Bereavement UK, a charity which supports families facing the death of a child.
The organisation also helps bereaved children.
The cause is one close to Nikki’s heart as she lost her brother Mark to neuroblastoma when he was aged three, and also her sister who, being anencephalic, was still born.
Nikki said: “This is both a personal challenge for me, and an opportunity to raise money for a charity that would have changed the lives of both my parents and me had it been around at the time.
“I feel it’s important that other families do not face bereavement without the support of an organisation like Child Bereavement UK.”
The challenge will be an international affair for the 53-year-old, as she will be running in Berlin, Chester, Isle of Wight and Amsterdam.
