Two women who travelled to Belarus with Operation Christmas Child will never forget the experience and will always cherish the memories.

Grandmother-of-four Sue Briggs from Slip End said: “All the children were amazed and overwhelmed by their gift of a simple shoebox.

“But one incident in particular will never leave us: a little girl called Lena from a village school in Holholitsa told us receiving her shoebox was ‘the best day of her life.’

“It was a very precious and humbling moment.”

Mum-of-one Amanda Dervley of Dunstable said the OCC team were met with warmth, kindness and appreciation wherever they went.

> The Herald&Post is once again proud to be a drop-off point for Operation Christmas Child, which sends shoeboxes of lovingly chosen gifts to needy children in Third World countries.
