Barnfield residents who are on the electoral register are invited to vote in the council by-election tomorrow.
The by-election is for one of Barnfield’s two seats on the authority, and the elected councillor will serve until May 2015, when the whole Council is up for election.
Details of the four candidates running are:
- Simon David Hall, 54 Marston Gardens, LU2 7DX – Green Party
- Clive Mead, 95 Butely Road, LU4 9EW – Liberal Democrats
- Geoff Simons, 52 Fairford Avenue, LU2 7ER, Conservative and Unionist Party
- Francis Steer, 34 Wensleydale, LU2 7PN, Labour Party
To see the list of polling stations where electors can vote, visit www.luton.gov.uk and search for ‘Barnfield by-election 2013’.
By now, residents should have received a poll card explaining how, where and when to vote. Electors can vote without this card, however it can be easier if it is brought along to the polling station.
A council spokesperson said: “Elections and by-elections make up an important part of the democratic process. I’d really encourage everyone who is on the electoral register to come out and vote this Thursday.”
Verification and counting of votes will take place immediately following the close of poll at Luton Town Hall and the result will be published on the council’s website as soon as possible.
