Support for carers was made available at Sainsbury’s in Bury Park, Luton as part of Carer’s Week Quest (June 9-15).

Tracey Gilson and Lyn Asquith, from the Luton Parent Carer Forum, set up shop at the supermarket on Saturday and spoke to the public about their work.

Store manager Mark Jacklin said: “Carers play such an important part in our community and we’re proud to be working with The Luton Parent Carer Forum and Carers UK to help highlight the support that’s available in Luton.”

Tracey Gilson, from the Forum, added: “We are inviting parent/carers of children and young adults aged 0-25 to join and it is down to you as an individual to put in as much or as little time as you have.

“We are looking for members from all levels – from filling out surveys as a member to becoming a parent rep and attending meetings relevant to your specific area or expertise/training and so on. If you have more time and are interested in joining our steering group that’s also a way to access the services and put the opinion of the forum forward.”
