Sports legends for Luton black tie charity dinner

WBO boxing champ Barry McGuigan, swim star Mark Foster and international cricketer Monty Panesar are just three of the big names lined up for a black tie dinner in aid of Age Concern Luton.

The event in the Romanov Room at Luton Hoo on Friday, March 31, will be hosted by Luton sports supremo Professor Greg Whyte OBE, who is an ambassador for the charity.

Other Luton legends hosting tables at the glittering event are IBO boxing champion Billy Schwer, England internationals Mick Harford and Brian Stein and League Cup winner Kingsley Black.

Guests will be offered champagne and canapes on arrival with a three-course meal followed by coffee and petit fours. There will be a charity auction with all proceeds going to ACL, which is dedicated to improving the lives of Luton’s senior citizens.

Chief executive Colette McKeaveney said: “We’re thrilled that so many sports celebrities have agreed to be at our fundraiser.”
