A Grandmother who was nominated for grandparent of the year has made it to the final two.
Harry, of Harlington, nominated Maureen Spary, of Lidlington, for Table Table’s Grandparent of the Year.
The 15-year-old nominated his grandmother because she always supports him, he said: “My grandma stands outside in all weathers watching me play football!”
Maureen has 11 grandchildren, who all live in Bedfordshire, and regularly watches them all in their sporting activities.
She said: “It feels great to be nominated for the award by my grandson, I love watching him play football and have been going since he was five.
“I go to watch all the grandchildren in their sports, I have been to a lot of rugby and football games over the years.
“They love seeing me there cheering them on and I love to go and support them.”
The award is the first to give recognition to grandparents across the country, celebrating what they do for their families.
The winner will receive a year’s worth of free meals at Table Table.
Jo Watling, marketing manager at Table Table, said: “At Table Table we want to celebrate all members of the family, including those of the older generation, which is why we are searching for the nation’s most worthy grandparent.
“We are excited to announce the shortlist for the Table Table Grandparent of the Year 2015.
“It is the first of its kind so we can not wait to see which grandparent wins the award.”
