With so much turmoil in the world blamed on religion, now’s the time to learn more about other faiths.
Sister Maire Hayes, a member of the Grassroots and Luton Council of Faiths team, is presenting a trio of talks on Hindu, Sikh and Muslim beliefs.
Entitled Celebrating Differences While Staying Faithful, they are aimed at everyone.
The first, on Hindu faith, takes place on Thursday March 12 at St Martin de Porres in Leagrave High Street, Luton.
This is followed by a talk on the Sikh faith on Thursday, April 16, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gardenia Avenue, Luton.
The final, on the Muslim faith, will be held on Thursday, April 23, at Holy Ghost Parish Centre in Luton’s Westbourne Road.
LCOF’s David ‘Johnny’ Jonathan said: “Encounters with other faiths foster dialogue and friendship.”
The council is committed to encouraging and promoting tolerance, respect and mutual understanding among people of all faiths and cultures.
Sister Maire Hayes is based in Northampton where she is inter faith co-ordinator for the Romam Catholic Diocese of Northampton.
