SLIDESHOW: All the action from On Your Marks

Waiting for Video...

RUNNERS young and old raised thousands of pounds for charity when they took part in our inaugural On Your Marks Luton charity run on Sunday.

And you can see all the action from the event in this slideshow of pictures from our photographer Jane Russell.

The event, in aid of the Luton & Dunstable Hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU), attracted hundreds of runners and has so far raised an impressive £8,900 through sponsorship, with more donations still expected to come in.

The 10km, 5km and 2km distances attracted everyone from experienced athletes keen to experience a new course, through to families with young children.

Sarah Newby, fundraising manager at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital, said: “There was such a great atmosphere both for those taking part and those spectating.

“Despite the cold everyone on the sidelines was cheering all the runners along which really helped spur them on.

“It was brilliant to see so many families and former NICU babies taking part, too.”
