TWO men from Luton have been arrested in connection with a bomb alert at a bank in Watford yesterday (Thursday June 2).

One of the men, aged 23, was arrested outside the Co-operative bank in Market Street, Watford, following a three-hour stand-off with armed police.

Police confirmed today that a second Luton man, also aged 23, had been arrested.

Bomb disposal experts were at the scene but it was later discovered the device, which had been strapped to the man’s leg, was not viable.

Both men are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.
