A kindhearted nine-year-old schoolgirl from Wing has raised £115 for Macmillan Cancer Support by selling homemade cakes and lemonade.

Overstone student Chloe Meadows teamed up with mum Michelle to prepare for her first charity event.

Michelle, 45 – an administrator at Bletchley’s Waterhall School – said: “She’d been at me for ages to have a homemade lemonade sale and she decided to give the money to Macmillan.

“It was completely Chloe’s idea and she made posters and put them up on lamp posts in the village.

“I helped with the baking. Actually I did most of it – although at the end she helped by licking the bowl and the spoons.”

Mother and daughter set up shop on a table with a pretty pink cloth on the driveway of their Ridgeway home. And they were overwhelmed by the response.

Michelle said: “We didn’t set a price, we just asked for donations. And people were so generous – they were giving us £5 and £10 notes. We sold out very quickly.”
