A woman in her 50s was left with ‘serious’ injuries after a car and motorbike collided on New Town Street, Luton, this morning.

East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response unit and an ambulance shortly after the collision at 7.45am.

The woman, who is believed to have been the motorbike rider, was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

She is said to have sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.

Police closed off New Town Street after the collision.
