ATHLETICS: Blair turns in a real shift

Luton AC's Jo Blair was in action for Shaftesbury Barnet in the UK Women's League Premier Division recently.

The 30-year-old won the javelin with a throw of 51.35m, over 5m clear of her nearest rival Kike Oniwinde who threw 45.08m.

With her team short of athletes, Blair also competed in three more events, the shot putt, discus and the 4x400m relay where she joined up and ran with fellow Lutonian Sabrina Bakare.

In the shot, Blair managed 9.98m, while also throwing 20.53m in the discus.

Bakare went in the 400m, clocking 54.93secs to finish third and also timing 6:57.04mins in the 1,500m for seventh.
