Conquest, rum punch and fighting spirit at Academy’s Caribbean show

The Academy Luton Boxing Club hosted another hugely successful event at Luton Rugby Club last Saturday.

The amateur club, which is run entirely by donations, has produced a string of promising young fighters since starting up four years ago, many of whom took to the canvas to pit their skills against boxers from all over the country.

Luton Rugby Club is becoming a bit of a fortress for the Duffy brothers as they both continued to show their good form.

Steven Duffy clocked up a sixth-straight win to keep his 100 per cent record going.

Sibling Niall also tasted success, defeating Nathan Hall of Windrush Valley ABC with such aplomb that he scooped the ‘Boxer Of The Night’ trophy, which was awarded by star visitor Tony Conquest.
